Bit About the Client
Big Projects Ltd handle home refurbishments across Greater London. Extensions, kitchens, full-on makeovers – the big jobs most homeowners put off until they finally bite the bullet.
Funny thing was, for a company doing all that, they had no website.
In 2025, that’s almost unheard of. They were running fine on word-of-mouth, but if you weren’t already in their circle? You’d never find them.
How It All Started
They came to us with no baggage – no half-broken site to patch up, no out-of-date branding to fix. Just a blank page.
The ask was simple on paper: “Can you build us a company website?” But underneath, it was about credibility.
They wanted homeowners to see them as the professionals they already were. And they wanted something they could update themselves without ringing up a developer every time.
The Main Pain Point
The problem was invisibility. In London, where everyone Googles before calling, being invisible isn’t an option. No website meant no leads online and no chance to show off their past work – which is a common pattern we cover in Businesses With No Online Presence or Poor Visibility.
It wasn’t just about having a site – it needed to give them presence, authority and a way to actually capture enquiries.
What We Actually Did
We went turnkey: domain, hosting, content, the whole package.
It’s the same approach we take on our web design work in Essex – sort the foundations properly, then make it easy to run day-to-day.
WordPress as the base, but we decluttered the dashboard so it wasn’t overwhelming, just the stuff they’d need day-to-day.
The design?
Clean, but not cold. Big visuals of finished refurbishments so the work could speak for itself. Service pages broken down into: extensions, lofts, kitchens – the usual, but written with Greater London in mind, so Google would understand exactly who they serve. And we made enquiry forms unavoidable (in a good way).

The Cool Stuff
Little touches make the difference. Project galleries that load quickly, even on mobile. Calls-to-action that aren’t buried at the bottom of the page.
A site that doesn’t make you wait around, because nobody’s waiting eight seconds for a loft conversion page to load.

What Happened After
The site went live in 16 weeks. Within the first month, they were already seeing enquiries through the contact forms, something they literally never had before.
Their service pages started creeping into search results for terms like “home refurbishment London.”
More importantly, clients said the site gave them confidence. That’s the part you can’t measure in analytics, but it matters.
Before vs After
| Area | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Online presence | No website | Clear site that shows work and services |
| Trust signals | Hard to verify quickly | Projects, service pages, and a consistent brand feel |
| Enquiry path | Mostly phone-based | Simple enquiry forms alongside the key services |
What They Said
“Honestly, it’s been a game-changer. Before, people just had to take our word. Now they can see what we do and it’s brought in work we wouldn’t have got otherwise.”
Wrapping It Up (Sort Of)
This wasn’t fixing something old. It was building from zero. Big Projects Ltd now have an online presence to back up their offline reputation and it’s already paying off in new projects and new trust.
