Used Auto Sales Limited forecourt in Romford, Essex after new website launch

Turnkey Website Build for Used Auto Sales in Romford, Essex

Bit About the Client

Used Auto Sales Limited – small forecourt in Romford, right off the A118. Lin runs it. You know the type – firm handshake, talks to everyone like they’ve known him ten years. Been shifting motors for ages, mostly from the yard and a bit of Facebook. Online presence? Yeah… basically a few Gumtree and Autotrader ads.

How It All Started

We first met him in March. Rain sideways, obviously. He’s got this battered clipboard tucked under his arm, juggling a phone call, and still finds time to tell us about his biggest headache: listing cars online.

“By the time I’ve typed out all the specs, it’s either sold or I’ve lost the will to live,” he says. And he wasn’t kidding – every engine size, every trim detail, every… whatever – all typed by hand.

The Main Pain Point

Typing. He hated it. Wanted something where you stick in a reg and boom – site fills in all the nerdy car details for you. Oh, and it had to work on his phone, stood out in the forecourt. In the rain. Possibly while drinking tea from one of those chunky white mugs everyone’s nan owns.

What We Actually Did

We basically gave him the full works:

  • Bought the domain to register car sales website
  • Set up the hosting.
  • Built the design from scratch.
  • Integrated the API so it could fetch every car’s details in seconds.
  • Wrote all the copy so he didn’t have to.

And, because we can’t help ourselves, we made sure the site followed decent SEO rules – fast, tidy, and ready for Google – even though Tony told us he “wasn’t fussed about all that ranking stuff.”

The Cool Stuff

  • Reg number in, full details out.
  • Dashboard made just for him – no faff, no hunting through menus.
  • Mobile uploads. Because dragging files from phone to PC is the worst.
  • SEO-ready, even if he wasn’t bothered.

What Happened After

Twelve weeks later, he’s getting more calls. People saying they found his site and “it looks proper professional.” And because it’s so quick, he’s listing cars the same day they arrive – sometimes within the hour.

He reckons he saves hours every week, which he now spends… well, probably talking to customers in the yard.

What Lin Said

“Mate, I can list a car faster than I can make a brew. Looks smart, works a treat. Even had someone say it’s easier than Autotrader.”

Wrapping It Up (Sort Of)

This wasn’t about fancy design tricks – it was about giving a bloke his time back. And honestly, watching Tony grin when he uploaded his first car from his phone, standing in the drizzle, was probably our favourite part of the whole job.

If you want a quick comparison point, the Flash Security redesign project shows the same playbook in a different sector-simpler nav, clearer calls to action, lean pages that still feel confident.

We ran it through real-world checks (old office PC in Brentwood, shiny iPhone in London) to be sure it holds up. And if that’s the direction you’re heading, WEB-KNACK can take you there-practical builds, plain English, and pages that actually get used.
